My Story
Who Am I?
I’m Chris Knox — husband, father, friend, and strategist. At my core, I love seeing people and organizations win. Whether it’s guiding a family through wealth planning, helping a business scale, or mentoring future leaders, my passion is strategy — defining goals, building systems, and executing with integrity!
The Early Years
Growing up in San Antonio, music was my first teacher. My father, a guitarist with a home studio, instilled discipline and creativity. By 16, I was teaching private lessons while preparing for the high school jazz band. That early mix of learning, teaching, and leading shaped the way I approach everything: absorb knowledge, share it generously, and help others succeed.
I earned my degree in Music Business from the University of Texas at Arlington, where I studied both music and business. Music gave me the ability to adapt and create. Business gave me the frameworks to grow and scale. Together, they laid the foundation for my future work.
The Pivot Into Business
My leadership journey began in the music industry, where I toured, taught, and performed while also rising to general manager of LW Records. My first major pivot was with Forbeyon Design Studio, a B2B photography company. Starting in sales, I quickly moved into leadership as GM/CFO. Over four years, I helped drive 181% growth in one year and 600%+ growth overall, expanding the client base to over 1,000 organizations across 15 countries. Forbeyon was ultimately acquired — a firsthand lesson in building businesses that scale and attract buyers.
That experience fueled my entrepreneurial drive. Through Transition Center Business Development (TCBD), I advise organizations and creatives in strategic planning, operations, and marketing. With EPH Investments, I extend my work into private equity and real estate.
Developing Leaders and Giving Back
Equally important to me is developing people. I served as an adjunct professor at The King’s University, where I helped launch a Worship Leadership degree and taught courses ranging from private lessons to recording technology. At Gateway Church, I helped develp the Worship Team Academy, a training program that equipped musicians to lead effectively.
In 2017, I became Director of Music and Youth Programs for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Tarrant County, redesigning the “Music Clubhouse” model. This scalable program focuses on youth development through music, gives youth access to instruments, studios, and mentors. The systems put in place by my team became the benchmark for best practices and has since been replicated nationally. I currently serve as a board member to the organization, continuing to support the great work they are doing for young people across North Texas.
The Finance Chapter
My career expanded further into finance, where I’ve worked with TD Ameritrade, Charles Schwab, Robinhood, and JPMorgan in a variety of roles that have included, service, operations, people development, sales, project management, and AI implementation. Most recently, as a Private Wealth Advisor at JPMorgan, I partnered with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, blending investment strategies with generational wealth planning. Today and Tomorrow
Today, I balance three passions:
- Helping individuals build wealth with market-based financial strategies as a through EPH Financial.
- Providing Value Acceleration Strategies for business owners through EPH Advisors.
-
Investing in growth opportunities through EPH Investments.
And yes — I still pick up the sticks to play drums when I can. Music will always be part of who I am, but my central calling is strategy: helping people and organizations define the win, build systems, and execute until the goal is achieved.
